Parking Secrets: Best Places to Park in Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is one of the natural wonders of the world and is visited by international tourists, as well as those from all over Canada. Those lucky enough to live near the Falls may even make frequent visits. But the volume of visitors does lead to a high volume of traffic. We want to help you avoid the headaches and stress of finding parking. So, here’s a guide to the best places to park in Niagara Falls.

Paying for Parking

Generally in Niagara Falls you will end up paying for parking. The high volume of tourists means you will likely have to pay regardless of the day or time. Generally, you will be looking to park in paid lots. If possible, it is best to avoid parking too close to the Falls or Clifton Hill as they are the busiest areas and finding a spot here isn’t easy. Of course, there is a reason for that… it is what people come to see. So, if you are visiting Niagara Falls for the day then do not be afraid to use the paid parking lots. Try to make it out to the Falls early and prepare yourself for a busy parking scenario.

TIP: One of the most popular and crowded lots is at Queen Victoria Place, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Falls. A good alternative to consider is the parking at Skylon Tower. Parking is inexpensive and you can admire the city’s tallest tower (so you will remember where you parked). Regroup at the car after your visit to the Falls and eat at the Tower’s famous restaurant in their beautiful Revolving Dining Room.

Free Parking

While there isn’t so much free parking as there are “free” parking options. Generally, motels and premium hotels will not charge you for parking (some hotels do charge, so call ahead and inquire). A couple great options are Holiday Inn by the Falls and Quality Inn Fallsview Cascade. You may find that it actually makes sense to stay overnight, which allows you to see more of what Niagara Falls has to offer while also giving you time to drive over to visit nearby Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The locals also have a great tip on how to park for free at the Fallsview Casino Resort parking lot. All you need is a Player’s Advantage Card, which you can sign up for at no cost. If you can resist the urge to spend your parking budget in the casino you can potentially park there for free. Keep this card and you will not have to pay for parking in Niagara Falls again.

Remember these tips when you are planning your trip to Niagara Falls. Whether you choose to spend a night in the city or include parking in your budget, you’re bound to have a fabulous time!
