If there is one thing these guys know, it is power cleaning.

From Mount Rushmore to the Space Needle, Karcher Cleaning has years of experience in taking the world’s greatest treasures and making them sparkle!
This is an event that will go down in history, and an event you do not want to miss.

Come watch the beloved Niagara monument get pressure cleaned by these professionals.
The German company was founded by Alfred Karcher in 1939 near Stutgardt, where the family enterprise still has its headquarters.

Throughout the 30’s and 40’s Karcher designed and produced many innovations for industry and made a serious breakthrough in the 50’s when he designed and innovated the first European hot pressure cleaner.
Still, half a decade later, his invention is used all over the world.

It is truly an amazing site to see what Karcher does. The date is still be to determined, but to get a sneak peek of what will be going down Click Here and see you there!

We thought we’d continue with the rock n roll music theme here and let you know that there is a Beatles Festival happening this Friday at the Greg Frewin Theatre!

Back by popular demand, with a sold out show last year, Niagara Falls Review presents the 2nd Annual “A Beatles Revolution” Festival Theatre Show starring the Canadian tribute band, The Caverners. With their uncanny shaggy hair cuts and unbelievable voices, The Caverners will serenade you with all your favourite Brit-pop, psychedelic tunes and you’ll be thrown right back into Beatlemania.

If you never got a chance to see The Beatles together, then this is definitely an experience you do not want to miss. So may I introduce to you, the act you’ve known for all these years…

Along with the warm and fresh weather of springtime means everyone dusting off those retro shades they’ve been hiding all winter. Remember when wearing wayfarers weren’t ironic, but just plain cool? Well the man who made these thick framed nerdy glasses iconic is being celebrated this weekend at the Fallsview Casino.

Come remember a simpler time when performers wore sharp fitting suits, and sang about those infamous girls Peggy Sue and Donna. Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valins and all the rockn’ rollers of the 50’s are being paid tribute at the Fallsview beginning this weekend and runs until April 28th!

The Skylon Tower officially opened in June of 1964 and since that day, it has been a permanent fixture of the Niagara Falls skyline. The iconic landmark perched over the majestic niagara falls has thousands of visitors every year, each and every one of them ascending and descending in those yellow “bug” elevators to see one thing…the view.

There is no doubt that the view from the top of the Skylon Tower is a “million dollar view” but it cost a lot more than that to build this iconic tower. Take a look at this video which shows some images of the building of the Skylon Tower, and some interviews with some of the staff that has been working there for literally decades…and some of the patrons that have been enjoying the view just as long.

It’s clear that it takes tons of concrete and steel to build such a monument, but building an icon clearly takes equally as much heart and soul. In the hospitality industry it would be difficult to find a business that has staff members working there for a few years, let alone multiple decades. The Skylon has many staff members that have been there for the long haul…and you can hear them talk about it here.

The legends of rock and roll will never die, especially with the amazing shows this weekend at the Greg Frewin Theatre in Niagara Falls. February is a great month to celebrate your favourite bands that you may never get to see, and this weekend it is simply the next best thing. Johnny and June Carter Cash will be paid tribute to on Friday February 8th by Bill Cayley, who born on the same day as the man in black, is said to perform one of the best tribute shows on earth. The Legend In Black tells the story of the Carter-Cash history with that old Tennessee country feel.

Can’t make it out Friday night? The Greg Frewin Theatre is offering an equally amazing tribute show on Saturday February 9th paying homage to The Eagles. The Eagles: Hotel California prides itself on staying true to the roots of the band and has shared the stage with other legends such as the Doobie Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Styx, REO Speedwagon, and Gretchen Wilson. Performing all over the globe in Dubai, Japan, India, Bermuda and all over North America just proves that they are the best at what they do.

Do not miss this opportunity to watch and witness the magic of The Eagles: Hotel California or The Legend In Black!

The show starts at 7:30PM, with an option of a beautiful theatre dinner before at 6:15. For prices, reservations and general enquiries please visit the theatre website http://www.gregfrewintheatre.com/ or call 1-866-870-3002.

This past year, Niagara Falls played host to a myriad of visual spectacles, all of which saw the pinacle viewpoint from atop the Skylon Tower.

The two most note-worthy events of the year were the Nik Wallenda tighrope crossing of Niagara Falls (From the American side to the Canadian side) and of course the Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championship event that started right from the roof of part of the Skylon property, snaking it’s way through the streets of Niagara Falls, down Murray Hill and finishing down near the falls.

In addition to these international events, the Skylon Tower also hosted the first stop of the 2012 Gumball Rally 3000 (a 3000 Mile tour of over 100 Super Cars from Times Square in New York, all the way to Los Angelas) and Jay Cochrane tighrope walking from the Skylon Tower to the Hilton Tower all summer long.)

2012 was a year that the world got to see Niagara Falls in all its “Wonder of the World” splendor. One of the biggest visual spectacles of the year took place on New Years Eve as the Skylon Tower helped bring in the New Year of 2013 with a bang…check out this video a fan captured from the festivities…

2012 has been a busy year for the iconic Skylon Tower in Niagara falls. It hosted the first official stop of the Gumball 3000 Rally in May, acted as a breathtaking Vantage Point as Nik Wallenda crossed the Falls on a tightrope and was the starting point for another tightrope walked (Jay Cochrane) who walked high above Niagara Falls dozens of times this summer.

On December first, the world will be watching again, as the Skylon Tower and Niagara Falls hosts the Season Opening race for the Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championships. One of the most intense contact sports in the world, crashed ice is where hockey skate clad athletes race down an ice track with twists, turns and obstacles, battling eachother to see who can reach the finish line first.

Red Bull Crashed Ice promises to impress with its epic course: Running 460 metres (1,509 feet) in length, an average width of 4.5 metres (15 feet), the Red Bull Crashed Ice course unfurls into a massive total of 2,500 square metres (26,910 square feet) of ice! The race will start under the gaze of the world’s famous 775-feet tall Skylon Tower and will conclude by one of the seven natural wonders of the world – Niagara Falls.

The 30-degree drop at the starting line launches competitors to intense speeds of over 50 km/h before hitting a steep turn and a step up bridge in the IMAX theatre parking lot. Then, these sultans of speed will sprint in a series of waves, pushing them up and down on the inclined hill. The action continues as skaters battle for first place on a course that heralds obstacles, including jumps, bumps, and gaps, draining competitors down to Murray Street for the straight that gives them the chance to battle for position. With glory and the magnificent Niagara Falls again in sight, the skaters will sprint down, making a sharp turn next to the Edgewaters Tap & Grill and hit the finish in the park. Then its back to the top for another go until one racer is crowned champ in the both the men’s and women’s divisions.

It will take a crew of hundreds 4 weeks to complete the discipline-twisting course, spreading over 50 boxes (4ft x 4ft x 4ft, 1700 pounds each) of “crashed ice” across the streets of Niagara Falls. A cooling system featuring chiller machines will help produce the right temperature throughout the build of the course and keep the ice smooth and even for the athletes. Polymer boards will be used to keep competitors on the track and fans from harm’s way. The crowd on the Saturday night should energize the skaters and launch them to break neck speeds as they rocket from the Skylon Tower down to the falls.

This exciting event will be broadcast on NBC and other affiliate networks, but to really experience the action first hand, come visit the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls and watch as these world class athletes battle it out in the first Crashed Ice event of the season.

Coco’s is one of the after party destinations that will be open until 4 am that night. If you’re staying up that late, we recommend getting a room for the night!

One of the coolest parts about being a landmark next to one of the wonders of the world: Celebrities love to visit. In the more than 50 years that the Skylon Tower has been open, it has played host to dozens of celebrities, including stars of stage and screen, athletes, heads of state and even royalty. Whenever these VIP’s come to visit, we try to get them to fill out our Guest book. You could imagine some of the signatures we have collected over the years…but why imagine if we can just show you a few.

As you can see, we have collected signatures from Liberace (what an incredible signature) to the Great One. The best part about these guest books is that they are available for anyone to see. Just ask for Brad and he would be happy to show you some of this great Niagara Falls history.

The Skylon Tower offers one of the most stunning views of Niagara Falls and it’s not just reserved for royalty. Anyone can come up to the observation deck at the Skylon Tower…and if you’re eating at either of the restaurants the trip to the top is free.

See you soon.

Doug Bates isn’t just the house piano player at the revolving dining room of the Skylon Tower in Niagara falls…he is part of the experience. Doug plays 6 nights a week at the fine dining restaurant and has done so for the last 32 years.

Doug is a classically trained piano player and has played in a band which took him all across North America, but the Skylon has been his home for the last 3+ decades. He can play the classics, jazz, blues and pretty much anything you ask him to play. If he doesn’t know it by heart, he has a trusty I pad with him to bring up the sheet music at your request.

We had the chance to sit down with Doug and talk to him about playing at the Skylon Tower, the encounters he has had with guests and celebrities alike and what it’s like to be part of a hospitality family for so long.

Enjoy…The Piano Man

On Friday, June 15th, 2012 at 10:10pm Nik Wallenda embarked on a journey that would be watched by more than 1 billion people from across the world.

He tightrope walked from the American side to the Canadian side, over the majestic Horseshoe Falls on a tightrope in front of more than 200,000 cheering fans.

We were there to capture the action from both the roof of The Skylon Tower and in the media zone, and after seeing what Nik accomplished, normal video production just wouldn’t suffice. Instead, we cut a tribute to Nik and his incredible feat and wish him luck on the rest of his epic stunts. We’ll be watching when he attempts the Grand Canyon…and we know the rest of the world will be as well.
