Spring in Niagara Falls Ontario
Though Winter seems relentless this year, signs of Spring can be found all around the Skylon Tower, in the Fallsview District of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Come witness Mother Nature, as she stretches her limbs and brings the landscape back to life after a long hibernation.
Your best bet for seeing it all, rain or shine, is from 775 feet in the air. Book a meal at our Revolving Dining Room or Summit Suite Buffet with the best views of the Falls & surrounding area. (You’ll also gain FREE ACCESS to our Observation Deck!) Escape the rain at our Family Fun Centre, our indoor shopping centre, and various other on-site attractions. When the weather agrees, there are plenty of places within walking distance to enjoy some fresh air and budding gardens, all along the Niagara Parkway.
For those who cannot wait to sniff the sweet scents of floral blooms, for the invigorating rush of being surrounded by live plants, and to be dazzled by bright colours & intricate patterns only found in Nature, the Floral Showhouse is your ideal destination. Featuring displays that change with the seasons, the Floral Showhouse has its own unique climate that caters to plants from around the world. Be sure to walk through the Life on Display art installation while you are there. Along the River, you’ll find The Niagara Parks walking paths & gardens, from Lake Erie all the way to Lake Ontario. This beautifully and thoughtfully landscaped stretch of land is a testament to talents of Niagara Horticulturists that showcases plants and flowers adapted to our climate including, crocuses, daffodils, tulips, magnolias, Japanese flowering cherries, and lilies to name a select few.
You may notice the numerous daffodils, as Niagara Falls, in addition to being the Honeymoon Capitol, is also know as the Daffodil Capitol of North America, and so the City adopted the daffodil as its official flower in 1967. The Niagara Parks is also known for its Falls-centric attractions that give you a closer look at the true majesty and power of Niagara. As you travel along the Parkway and throughout the City, you will also notice Historical Plaques in commemoration of the many people and events that have contributed to the rich history of Niagara Falls. For the real history buffs, be sure to visit the Niagara Falls Historical Museum, located on the battlefield of Lundy’s Lane. Not up for a walk? The parkway is a perfect place for a scenic drive, with plenty of places to park and watch the River flow along the winding roads.
The Falls & surrounding Entertainment Districts are really just the beginning of what Niagara Falls & the Region has to offer. Wineries, waterparks, live music, and so much more are a short car ride away. Be sure to check out our Events Page for more ideas. We look forward to seeing you!
So shake off that Spring Fever and plan your trip to the Skylon Tower, where the view is spectacular and the true beauty of a Niagara Spring surrounds you.
