General Cashier

The Skylon Tower is looking for a General Cashier to join our Accounting Department.


Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the General Cashier will be responsible for handling all cash transactions, ensuring accuracy in receipts and payments, and maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial standing. This role requires a high level of precision, integrity, and the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate must be a team-oriented individual and work effectively independently. The ideal candidate must be a strong communicator who is professional and consistently acts with a high degree of integrity.

  • Manage daily cash transactions, including receiving, counting, and distributing cash.
  • Ensure all cash handling procedures are followed accurately and securely.
  • Maintain accurate records of all cash transactions.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on cash operations, highlighting discrepancies and resolving them in a timely manner.
  • Perform bank deposits, withdrawals, and prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with the bank for any discrepancies or queries related to cash transactions.
  • Manage the petty cash fund, including disbursements, replenishments, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure all petty cash transactions are supported with proper documentation and approvals.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to cash handling as required by the accounting department.
  • Support in the closing activities at the end of each period.
  • Adhere to internal controls and accounting policies related to cash transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding financial transactions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in handling inquiries and resolving issues related to cash transactions.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and efficient transaction processing.
  • Maintain the safety and security of the cash area and documents. Ensure confidentiality of financial information.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


  • Post secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1+ years of cashier or cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong ethical standards and a high level of integrity.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent numerical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be available to workdays, evenings, and occasional weekend shifts.
