Play us a song…Piano Man

Doug Bates isn’t just the house piano player at the revolving dining room of the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls, Canada…he is part of the experience. Doug plays 6 nights a week at one of the best Niagara Falls dining restaurants in the area and has done so for the last 32 years.

Doug is a classically trained piano player and has played in a band which took him all across North America, but the Skylon has been his home for the last 3+ decades. He can play the classics, jazz, blues and pretty much anything you ask him to play. If he doesn’t know it by heart, he has a trusty I pad with him to bring up the sheet music at your request.

We had the chance to sit down with Doug and talk to him about playing at the Skylon Tower, the encounters he has had with guests and celebrities alike and what it’s like to be part of a hospitality family for so long.

So next time you visit the Revolving Dining Room during your Niagara Falls vacation, enjoy the Piano Man while you savour great Niagara Falls Dining!
